Finance Minister Ato Forson to Present 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review on July 24

Finance Minister, Hon. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, is set to present the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 24, 2025.  This crucial assessment of the country's fiscal performance for the first half of 2025 was announced by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, during his presentation of the business statement for the eighth week ending Saturday, July 19, 2025.

The Mid-Year Budget Review will provide a comprehensive overview of Ghana's economic performance, including updates on macroeconomic indicators, revenue and expenditure targets, and possible revisions in key policy initiatives.  This statutory obligation ensures transparency and accountability in the country's financial management. Aside from the budget review, the Business Committee has noted that currently, Sixty-One referrals have been made to Sixteen Committees, and they are expected to consider and report on same. 

The Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, mentioned that the Minister responsible for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, is scheduled to brief the House on the recent demolition of properties at the Sakumono Ramar Site.

Furthermore, the Minister responsible for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, is set to address the House regarding the recent 2.5% increment on electricity tariff by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission.  These briefings are expected to provide clarity on these critical issues and shed more light on the government's stance. The upcoming budget review will undoubtedly shed light on the government's revenue and expenditure performance, debt servicing, and fiscal sustainability, potentially proposing adjustments to existing fiscal measures in response to shifting economic realities.
